The Women on Third Street, The Fight for Justice, Equality, and the Vote
Join Adele Gratiot Washburne, Susan B. Anthony, Clara McClellan and Jane Addams outside the historic homes and in the beautiful gardens of Third Street in historic Galena. Come hear their stories, learn their struggles, and witness their determination to fulfill the promises of democracy: justice and equality. Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, their victory in the decades long battle for women’s right to vote.
Outdoor seating for socially distanced groups of ten, facial coverings, and extra cleaning measures will make the event safe for you, our performers, and event volunteers.
Advance reservations for the one hour program are required. Tours will be scheduled every 20 minutes from 1 PM for both Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23. Each tour will be limited to 10. The event will proceed rain or shine.
